Indian Overseas Bank has invited online applications for engagement of apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961, for FY 2026-27. The bank will fill 750 apprentice seats across states and union territories. IOB released the notification under Advertisement No. HRDD/APPR/01/2026-27, dated July 6, 2026.

Graduates who meet the age and education criteria can apply online from July 7 to July 20, 2026. The bank will conduct the process through the BFSI Sector Skill Council of India portal.

Eligibility Criteria
Nationality
Applicants must hold Indian citizenship.
Age Limit
Candidates need a minimum age of 20 years and a maximum age of 28 years as on July 1, 2026. This means candidates born between July 1, 1998 and July 1, 2006 qualify under the general and EWS categories.
The bank grants age relaxation as follows:

Candidates registering under NAPS must stay below 34 years as on the cut-off date.
Educational Qualification
Applicants need a degree in any discipline from a recognized university, with results declared on or before July 31, 2026. NATS candidates must have their graduation result declared between March 1, 2022 and July 31, 2026.
Stipend
Selected apprentices will receive a monthly stipend for the one-year contract period, based on branch location.

For candidates selected under NATS, the government share of Rs. 6,150 goes directly to the apprentice’s bank account through DBT, and the bank pays the remaining amount separately.

The bank will not refund the fee under any circumstances once a candidate submits it.
Selection Process
IOB will select apprentices through an online written examination followed by a local language test and document verification.
Online Written Examination
The exam carries 100 marks across four sections, with a total duration of 90 minutes.

Candidates must score the minimum qualifying percentage set by the bank. SC/ST/OBC/PwBD candidates get a 5% relaxation on this cutoff. The exam has no individual subject cutoff.
Local Language Test
Candidates applying for a particular state must know how to read, write, speak, and understand one local language of that state. The bank conducts this test during document verification, but candidates who submit a 10th or 12th mark sheet showing that they studied the specified language stay exempt.
How to Apply for IOB Apprentice 2026
- Register on the NATS portal or the NAPS portal before applying for the IOB program.
- Visit the Career Opportunities page on www.bfsissc.com or BEEP.
- Fill the online application form for the IOB Apprenticeship Program FY 2026-27.
- Enter the NATS or NAPS enrolment number in the application form.
- Pay the application fee online between July 7 and July 22, 2026.
- Submit the application before July 20, 2026.
Candidates can apply from only one state or union territory, preferably their home state.
Documents Required at Document Verification
Candidates must carry originals along with self-attested photocopies of the following documents:
- Printout of the personal interaction call letter
- Printout of the BFSI SSC email with submitted application data
- Proof of date of birth
- Photo ID proof such as Aadhaar, PAN, passport, voter ID, or driving licence
- Mark sheets and certificates for educational qualification
- Caste certificate for SC/ST/OBC/EWS candidates, where applicable
- Disability certificate for PwBD candidates, where applicable
